Cookbooks are considered the powerhouse of culinary genius. My mother loved to cook and bring home several cookbooks which featured a host of recipes, never heard before. However, in the era of the internet, is a cookbook still worth your time and money? Let’s find out.
I still save for buying cookbooks
I cannot deny my fascination for these culinary books. They contain several gems that can make your heart melt at just the sight of food. While I always keep searching for new recipes online, I often save some money to buy them. However, most often, I would go ahead and spend it on old or exotic books only.
The internet is filled with a variety of different websites that all provide similar recipes. I try to find something new and unique- something that maybe be lost to the world. When I make these recipes, it feels like time has stopped and I have entered a foodie’s paradise. Some of the best meals have emerged from these old texts only. I either pick them up while travelling or go to libraries to find them. If you haven’t started doing this yet, you must start this right away.
What do I do on the internet?
Finding recipes on the internet is not easy, even if you have one of the great suddenlink internet plans, for example, at your disposal. First, you must swim in an ocean of websites that have uninspiring content. Second, authentic tastes are often hidden in pages of old diaries, which cannot be found online. A simpler way to cook
The older the book you find, the simpler and more delicious the recipes will become. I once cooked a fish wrapped in leaves and put under burning coal fire. The fish cooked slowly for 3 hours in this make-do oven and tasted like a million dollars. It was so fresh, juicy, and well-cooked that I never wanted to grill a fish ever again.
